I have just come back from a day of lectures with Elaine Harvey of LullababySOS, learning more techniques for helping Babies to settle.

In June this year, as part of Victoria University’s Postgraduate Certificate in Osteopathic Paediatrics, I did a workshop with Helen Stevens, author of Safe Sleep Space.  Like Elaine, Helen is an Expert on Baby Settling.

It’s useful to compare these approaches, seeing differences as well as similarities. Some Baby Settlers teach a more "Authoritative" approach to the issue; some are more "Attentive" to the Baby; and some are more "Permissive".

It is clear to me that all approaches are well complemented by the Osteopath who seeks to find and remove the causes of pain.
